| PYRAMID PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE DIRECTIONAL THREE CARD Spreads or Layouts they are the same, it is a way of laying out the cards for a reading and there are many forms of spreads/layouts used today so I will just show a sample of the most common ones, the Celtic Cross Spread is I believe the most popular, so we shall begin with that. In this one the base of the pyramid is from where everything stems from, past situations and occurrences, therefore the reading begins from the bottom line and concluding at the at the top, it is, therefore, plain to see that as one reads the cards it is going from the past gradually to the present.
********************************************** PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE
Nothing simpler than three cards, a good way to start practicing a reading, of course you can use them for any other event, maybe you have three choices to make, in which case observe which two you think are connected with each other, discard the odd one then read the final two. An elaboration of this is to use six (6) cards instead of three paring them up from left to right and reading each pair as a whole.
********************************************
DIRECTIONAL Just the same as above but using just two cards at the beginning and where the above is giving the past present and future, these two cards are mainly used when there are important choices to make.
*************************************** THREE CARD NUMBER READING
This is in similarity to the 'Past Present Future' cards above in as much as they use three cards, the difference here is you are using numbers. METHOD. After choosing three cards from the pack and having a question one wishes to be answered you then add together the numbers of the cards and refer to the appropriate Major Acana card and read from that. As an example; if the total of all three cards fall BELOW 22: e.g all three total 8 then the reading will be based on the STRENGTH card (8), but if all three total ABOVE 22 e.g. 7 + 10 + 8 = 25 then you break this down 2 + 5 =7 therefore the reading will be on the CHARIOT (7)
